Andrea Gómez works across painting, drawing, and graphic processes to examine how images operate as systems of knowledge. Her practice focuses on the intersections between scientific, mythological, and cultural visual regimes, exploring how meaning is constructed and destabilized through representation.

She treats analog and digital logics as interdependent structures shaping contemporary image-making, often reworking scientific diagrams, classificatory systems, and archival imagery alongside speculative and myth-based references. This approach allows her to question assumptions of neutrality embedded within visual systems and their institutional frameworks.

Through processes of layering, fragmentation, and reproduction, she produces images that resist fixed interpretation and remain open, unstable fields of reading.

Her practice ultimately reflects on the limits of representation—how images generate, distort, and exceed meaning, and how these moments of instability can open alternative forms of visual understanding.
